Cru Bible Study

Here are some of the members of out Bible study that we have on campus every Monday at 8. On this day, we combined the two Bible studies that we have and met at my house. I lead one of the Bible studies, which is in the Residential College on campus. Grant Brown, the guy laying back who has the black shirt on leads the Bible study that Cru has in the Quad.

The guy on the right is our representative from St Louis. His name is Karl, and he heads up Campus Crusade on our campus. Campus Crusade for Missouri is centered in St. Louis.

A couple more of my friends from the Bible study. My brother and I will be rooming with Mark, the guy on the left, and some other guys next semester. He is a good friend of mine. Michael Gatts, the fellow in the middle, is another one of my best friends. I was in his wedding two summers ago, and we hang out and talk all the time. The girl on the right is named Kelly. She and two other girls will be staying in an apartment not too far from where Matt and I will be staying.

New Camera

I finally got a digital camera. My old film camera took so long to get onto my computer and was getting so expensive that I could not take pictures. Now I finally can, so I will almost certainly post more often than once every three months now!

Robotics

Older Robotics Team

Several of the fellows are working on some of the documents due for the competition.

One of their two robots under construction. This robot is designed to pick up rubber duckies as seen in the next picture!

John is working on construction their other robot.

The basket connected to the metal arm collects fuzzy little green balls. The robot itself is a version of a robot called a Rumba, commonly used as an autonomous (person-free and automatic) carpet cleaning robot.

Younger Robotics Team

Each person or group of guys has their own robot to work on and program together. The robot on the right is part of a robotic guitar that they made.

Age spans from young to really old -- like almost 15 years old.

The level of difficulty of the projects and programing depend on the skill level of the group. Most groups end up doing the same projects, but some take a little longer until they are ready for the new challenge.

Jonathan is creating a gear box for an automatic machine gun that he is making.

This little robot is programmed to automatically track and follow a white line on a black table.

10/14/07 Really, I am not sure why I took this picture. I guess I just felt like taking it! :)

11/25/07 This picture I took as a profile picture when I applied for Chancellor's Leadership Academy (CLA) at our school. I was involved in Chancellor's Leadership Academy my second semester freshmen year and first semester sophomore year (the only two semesters you can be in it). I now am a CLA alumni!

9/19/08 I took this picture because I thought my hair looked so wavy and funny!! I had never really allowed my hair to grow out far enough to see what it would do. I know now!

9/12/09 Yes, I know the picture looks like me, but it really isn't. It is sort of like when something looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, but really is not a duck! It may look like me, but it is Josh hanging out at my house. And he certainly is not a duck either! ;)

Christmas Break

Over Christmas break, Matt and I went back to St. Louis to spend several weeks with my family! It was nice to be able to relax for an extended period of time.

For Christmas Eve, our family went over to our Grandma's house with all the cousins on my dad's side.

We had a nice meal, played card games, and talked. It was a special time.

At one point in the evening, we all gathered around the piano to sing Christmas carols. Several of us took turns playing while everyone sang. There were probably 40 people for the get-together.

We decided to have some fun and do some four-man pushups. I think our uncle filmed us.

We played several rounds of spoons.

After Christmas, Matthew, Michael, Daniel, our cousin Timmy, and I played a game of Axis and Allies. Fortunately, it was not as long as the 12 hour game that we played before.

Matt took some time out to do a little sewing. Michael or Daniel thought that it looked funny and decided to take some pictures of him.

Michael likes photography and decided to take some pictures of the coals of our fire. I thought that they looked neat!
